You've
been invited to interview?
Congratulations!
You have just passed one of the toughest examinations
of your life.
There
are very few exams out there that require a 85-95% mark
to pass; but you have done it - you have made it from
a huge pile of CVs down to the short list.
It's an ancient cliche, but that doesn't make it any
les true: You already have the job.
(Or, more accurately, someone out there thinks you
can do the job. NO-ONE is going to
give you an hour of their time unless they think you
can do the job.)
And yet many people face into the interview process
with a sense of absolute dread - why?
 |
"I'm
well qualified, I have good experience and yet I
never get hired after the interview. I don't know
what I'm doing wrong ......" |
 |
"I
hate talking about myself." |
 |
"I
always prepare well for interviews, but then I can
never remember what to say." |
 |
"You
always have to lie to get through interviews and
I'm a rotten liar." |
 |
"I
find it very hard to talk about my career without
sounding like I'm boasting." |
 |
"I've
never done anything special, so it's hard to sell
myself at interview." |
 |
"They
never gave me a chance to sell myself." |
Do
any of these sound familiar?
